This Walnut bowl would make a great salad bowl, or a serving dish for food that is not hot or liquid. This piece of wood had many cracks, and they were filled in with epoxy, and Walnut sawdust. The bowl has a concave rim to add character. The grain is a spectacular mixture of light and dark brown. The dimensions are 9.5 inches in diameter, and 2 inches tall.

This bowl is food safe, and should be treated with food grade mineral oil, or a food safe finish of your choice every month, or every 3 months if seldom used. to treat the bowl apply a liberal amount of oil, and let the bowl sit for a minimum of 2 hours. 24 hours is best. After sitting, simply wipe off the excess oil, and the bowl is ready to use again. Hand wash with lukewarm water and dish soap, then hand dry. NEVER PUT THIS IN A DISHWASHER !!
